Built in 1910, this Craftsman-style structure originally served as a carriage house behind the Hayter home at the corner of North Street and West Starr (now, the Legend Apartments). It was constructed to house draft horses and carriages.

As transportation evolved, the building adapted—surviving the transition to automobiles and later serving as a garage before eventually being relocated to Millard’s Crossing Historic Village.
