OUR MISSION
The mission of Millard's Crossing Historic Village is to portray the spirit and ingenuity of pioneer settlement in East Texas and to connect present generations to those of the past.
OUR HISTORY
Welcome to Millard's Crossing, a charming reconstructed historic village located on the north side of Nacogdoches, Texas. Named after the railroad track that traversed the Millard family property, this remarkable museum complex showcases a diverse collection of 19th-century East Texas architecture, from quaint log cabins to elegant Victorian homes. Established by the late Lera Millard Thomas, each structure has been meticulously moved and restored to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Texas, featuring early buildings, antiques, tools, and memorabilia. Come explore and experience the beauty of Texas history at Millard's Crossing.
Lera Millard Thomas, a proud native of Nacogdoches, made history as the first woman from Texas to serve in the U.S. Congress after being elected to complete her late husband, Congressman Thomas's, term in 1966. Following her groundbreaking tenure, she returned to Nacogdoches in 1968, dedicating herself to a remarkable preservation project. Lera worked tirelessly to save some of the county's significant historic structures while also creating a home for her extensive antique collection. Her contributions have left a lasting legacy in the heart of Nacogdoches.
